This benchmark isn’t just numbers; it’s a tool to help you:
Negotiate your next role confidently.
Understand how you measure up to your peers.
Make strategic career moves.
A grasp from our findings below.
Total compensation per role
For most product roles, salaries fall into predictable patterns. Entry-level Product Managers make about €60,000, and the median for Senior PMs is €115,000. The jump to leadership roles like Group PM or Head of Product is much bigger. Group PMs are often making €200,000+, and Heads of Product hover around €150,000. Designers earn slightly less than PMs but follow a similar growth curve.
Experience matters, but not as much as you'd think after a certain point. The big jumps happen early—between 3 and 5 years in. After 8+ years, salaries keep growing, but not as dramatically.
Salary distribution
The distribution emphasizes the steady progression of salaries as professionals advance in their careers, with significant jumps occurring when moving into leadership roles. For product professionals, it reflects clear opportunities for growth; for companies, it underscores the need to align compensation with the market to attract and retain talent at every level.
Total compensation per stage
The stage of the company also impacts what your compensation looks like. Seed-stage startups might offer €60,000 and some equity. At Series A, salaries rise to €82,500 on average. By Series B, you’re looking at closer to €100,000, and for public companies, the median hits €120,000.
